Check Your Label (CYL) is a campaign to create awareness among consumers on the importance of purchasing communications equipment with a valid MCMC label.
The campaign is also intended to educate consumers on how to verify a device’s certification status and validity of MCMC label by using Check Your Label mobile application or website.
MCMC label is a mandatory certification mark indicating that a communications equipment is certified for compliance with standards as required under the Communications and Multimedia (Technical Standards) Regulations 2000.
MCMC label can be in form of digital or physical label. Communications equipment with an integrated display screen may have the digital MCMC label embedded in the operating system. In case of physical label, it can be in the form of sticker, embossed, engraved or printed onto the surface of an equipment.
A mandatory certification mark to indicate a communications equipment is certified for compliance with standards as required under the Communications and Multimedia (Technical Standards) Regulations 2000
Use of non-certified communications equipment may cause injury, may not interoperate with other communications network or other equipment and may cause radio frequency interference
Communications equipment without MCMC label may be counterfeit / cloned or illegal to be used (e.g. WiFi cracker, frequency jammer, etc.)
